Services Massage is a healing art dating back 3000 years or more to China where the use of touch to heal and to soothe was an essential part of that culture. This allows you to actively participate in your care. The benefits can be dramatic and may reduce the need for pain medication. Therapeutic Massage
Swedish Massage, focuses on the large muscle groups with long sweeping strokes and kneading. It may be useful to incorporate this type of massage into your treatment plan. Your initial examination and therapy session will last an hour or more and you will be asked to fill out a confidential medical history. The therapist will inquire about your current status of pain and will observe your posture and gait pattern. You will then be asked to disrobe in private, lie on the therapy table and cover yourself with a sheet. The therapist will examine the soft tissues for tight and tender areas and will look for referral patterns. Your modesty will always be respected. During your treatment the skilled therapist will search out areas of discomfort and pain which indicate the location of adhesions, trigger points, muscle spasms and cellular toxins. You are encouraged to give continuous feedback so therapy can be accomplished with the least amount of discomfort. Results are achieved by improving the circulation of blood and lymph fluids throughout the body, increasing oxygen and nutrient flow to body cells and facilitating efficient removal of metabolic waste products.
